Hi. This is Jean-Pierre Claude.
In some of the previous discussions you would have heard me speak about the fact that your outer world reflects what is going on in your inner world and I wanted to elaborate on what that means.
We may all be on the same planet, but there are as many different worlds as there are perspectives. We are flooded with bits of information in every moment about the world around us, and through our sensory perceptions we recreate what is around us in our minds, and that internal view of what goes on around you becomes your world.
All of these bits of information are also subject to your own filters made up by things like the expectations and beliefs that you hold. As a result, what is active in you is more easily noted in the world around you. If you think of yourself as a victim and feel like a victim, you will notice victimisation more frequently. The manner in which you view the world differently happens through various ways, and we shall consider a few together.
The first is through perception, where you can see and interpret things differently. Just think about eye-witness accounts of the same situation and how many different versions of stories can be told by the various people that looked at the same set of circumstances.
Another example of differing perceptions is how one person may perceive someone completely differently to someone else. For one person someone can be a best friend who they trust and to someone else the person is seen as being arrogant and rude and therefore they wouldn’t want to spend any time with them. We have two diverging views here of 1 person, with a whole spectrum of potential views in-between.
The second manner in which your inner world can be represented in your reality, is through the typical experiences that you have, and those represent that which is active within you.
That means that you tend to gravitate more to the things that you resonate with, and they gravitate to you. Let’s continue with our example of someone who feels like a victim.
It is easy to imagine how the types of YouTube videos that they watch, social media that they follow, the friends that they hang out with, etc. also add fuel to those feelings, and therefore reinforce that emotional state; or even worsen it over time as that state is further energised.
A third manner in which your external world represents your inner world, is through your interactions with others. Because of what’s active in you, you cannot help but radiate how you feel, and those around you pick up on that, and because so many people base their reactions on the people and situations around them, they will tend to reflect to you a wide range of your own emotional state. For example, if you are feeling happy and at ease, just by the way that you greet people, you are more likely to see happier responses reflected to you.
Of course some people will be so far from their own inner peace that they will not reflect happiness to you, but because you are in a good place, you do not attach to their lack of consciousness and it is irrelevant to your experience. The converse is also true, if someone is stable in their alignment, they will not reflect out-of-alignment behaviour to you, because that is simply not compatible with their emotional state in that moment.
Nevertheless, even an aligned state in one person can be used by someone to further energise an unwanted emotional state.
In our example of our person who feels like a victim, he or she can feel even more so if they interact with someone in alignment, who is happy and does not attach to our victim’s emotional state, because now they perhaps feel that no-one cares or understands them and those thoughts further fuel that emotional state.
And it is not that you do not care for someone who feels like a victim while you are aligned, you simply see them for who they truly are, someone who is a powerful creation, but is being kept away from their Inner Peace through their thoughts.
The last form of life as a mirror that we will discuss today, is the reflection that your body provides. I want to remind you that you have creative power over your experience here, and that your thoughts, and the resulting emotions impact everything around you. As such, even your body can be a gauge of what is going on with you on the inside.
An example would be how, if you are joyful and peaceful, you tend to get sick less often; your body in general feels good. If you are stressed, you may experience getting sick more frequent only, or noticing things like higher blood pressure, or you may overeat more easily. This is by no means trying to link any specific conditions to specific emotional states, as there are too many variables and factors to take into consideration. The takeaway from this, is that what is going on in your inner world can affect your body, and in that way your body acts as a mirror too.
In summary, most people believe that life only happens to them, and they believe that what is happening around them, and their reaction to that, is purely a product of external forces over which they have no control. No wonder that leaves so many unhappy, without hope and feeling like victims.
They do not know about their inner-peace, and the fact they can sync up to that. Once they do they can begin changing their perspective and therefore their world. And even when something unwanted crosses their path they can still control how they react to it, which in turn impact their future experiences.
Ultimately you have control over what you sync up with, but to do it with precision and consistency takes some practice. The truth is that most of us were never taught to do so and therefore that ‘muscle’ hasn’t been exercised. It starts by controlling your thoughts instead of letting your thoughts control you, in this moment and the moments that follow.
It really is that simple to start changing your inner world so that the mirror may reflect differently to you.
Until next time, take care and remember to be kind to yourself.
