Now that we have answered a few probing questions, let’s consider what these tell us about where we are.
Describe your current life situation. (bold)
In this question you were asked to provide statements about your current life situation. As part of the review, I want you to read over those statements again and identify which of these are empowering and which of these are not empowering, and mark them accordingly.
So what is the difference between an empowering and a disempowering thought/statement? An empowering statement is one which is supportive of your alignment, and a disempowering statement will take you further away from your Inner Peace.
An empowering thought is one which is in acceptance of where you are and who and what you are becoming; where a disempowering thought emphasises where and who you do not want to be.
For example, with relation to career, an empowering thought would be:
* I am in a job which provides me with security at the moment and I am looking forward in following my path to where my career leads to next. (It is a pull to what is unfolding.)
An example of a disempowering thought would be:
* I cannot wait to move on from my current job, because this job isn’t enjoyable anymore. (It is pushing against your current reality.)
Sometimes it may sound very similar when you first read it, but it comes down to whether the thought comes from within your Inner Peace, or outside of it. And with time, discernment around your thoughts will become simpler and more natural to you.
How would you describe your current job or the way in which you fill your days? (bold)
The purpose of this exercise is very similar to the question around describing your life, except it is a little more focused on career. I want you to apply the same discernment around how you have answered the previous question.
I.e. review your answer and mark the statements that you’ve made either as empowering or disempowering.
The purpose of these first 2 questions are to determine your relativity to your Inner Peace both in terms of the how you feel about life in general at this point as well as your relativity with regard to the subject of job or career.
Things that you are passionate about. (bold)
The purpose of this question is to get an idea of how you imagine your life going forward. In other words, whether you give sufficient energy to those things that you are passionate about and whether you want to include more of these in your experience as you continue to direct your life. This will be helpful when we get to the next lesson where we are building the map to building a happy, healthy life.
Do you believe that you have to work hard in order to earn a decent living? (bold)
Although this question didn’t ask you to do a lot of writing, it is an extremely important question about your beliefs. Because within this question you can tell whether you have beliefs (thought patterns) that you have picked in this human form which stifle your power as a creator. In other words, it is telling of beliefs that contain resistance and therefore can influence your view of the world and therefore your reality. Remember that your outer world reflects your inner world, and therefore your world is supportive of the thought patterns that you hold, whether they are supportive and empowering or not.
And therefore if it is your belief that you have to work hard in order to earn a decent living, then so it is. You may even see ‘lucky’ people out there where you feel like they don’t really work hard and yet things fall into their laps. And then the system feels rigged or that there are different rules for different people. Meanwhile there are only different realities for different people, reflecting their different beliefs. I.e. if you believe that you should feel like you are working hard in order to make a living, then things that are enjoyable and do not feel like hard work are unlikely to bring you abundance because it is not your reality. It all depends on how much resistance you hold in relation to the idea of the ease with which you can earn a living.
Do you believe that you can be successful if you do what you want to do? (bold)
Similar to our previous question around the ease with which you can create abundance, this is another question to act as an indicator of the beliefs that you hold and yet may not be aware of the fact that it is an active belief within you. And in this case it is indicative whether your beliefs (thought patterns) are supportive of you following your passion and living in abundance (in whatever form is important to you) or whether you are holding resistance to idea of allowing abundance to flow to you if you are doing those things that you love.
