In order to set up a situation where you more easily stay on course, it is helpful to let your mind, body and soul align in the journey. Although alignment and creation happens through the thoughts that you think, certain conditions can make it easier to be in alignment than others. And although you want to reach a place where your alignment is independent of the the conditions of the present moment, every bit helps – especially in the beginning – to help you to focus in different ways and therefore to create new thought patterns. One of those things that can help is to have a physical body which is supportive of your ability to direct your focus.

That means that by caring for both your mind and body, you are in a better position in terms of energy, mindset etc. to be in alignment with Self (or soul). Therefore, when you consider activities that strengthen our alignment, you may also consider activities which indirectly assist you by helping you to be in an environment or body which makes your alignment easier. For example, you may feel inspired to reduce the amount of caffeine that you consume, or you may want to go for more regular walks, or you may feel a little more recluse while you shore up your alignment. Not because you want to train yourself that you need the present moment to change in order for you to sync up with Self, but because it can make reaching alignment easier while you shift your emotional climate; or differently put, you are focusing on changing the inner, and taking certain steps to assist with that change can be helpful while you train your focus. An easy example would be to go for a run early morning which can be a heart-filler exercise addressing both mind and body. Because your mind is quieter from the run, you can more easily align to the Self; and because your body feels good and you can better focus with a healthy body, again you may find it easier to align.

In order to know what activities will be supportive of your alignment, it is helpful to first align with Self and then to think of activities that you can do which may not be ‘heart-filler’ activities in the traditional sense, but can be used as tools to help you in shifting your emotional climate. This can be summed in the question “what else can I do to assist my intention of being aligned more often?”. Where our normal heart-filler activities are there expressly to align the mind with the Self, these supportive activities may not be the activity that directly harmonise the mind and the Self, but rather serve to support those heart-filler activities. Some activities can be both though, such as the earlier example of the runner, where the activity itself helps to align the person, but the other effects of the activity may be to generally make alignment easier.
